What to Check Before Paying a WhatsApp Seller in Nigeria
Before transferring money to a WhatsApp seller, confirm who is behind the number, verify the product or service independently, write down the exact price and delivery terms, and preserve the agreement outside the chat. A transfer screenshot or familiar display name is not proof by itself.

Confirm who you are dealing with
Check whether the seller's name, phone number, social pages, business details, and payment account point to the same business or person. Ask for an explanation when the details differ.
Check the exact offer
Confirm the item, size, condition, quantity, price, delivery charge, and availability. For a service, define the deliverables, deadline, revision limits, and acceptance conditions.
Do not treat payment evidence as delivery evidence
A payment receipt shows that a payment instruction or transfer was attempted. It does not prove that the seller has dispatched the correct order or that the buyer received it.
Preserve the agreement
Keep a copy of the listing, the final written terms, payment details, dispatch updates, and delivery evidence. Write down important terms before the chat becomes difficult to search.
